Shooting and Setbacks
During Day 1 of filming to improve our narrative we faced numerous problems which meant that we were unable to use these clips for our thriller opening. Firstly, due to the arrangement of the room it meant that our character's positioning was restricted. This made finding the correct angle when using our camera extremely difficult, as a result when looking back on our footage we realised that the 'over the shoulder' shots where not suitable to use. On various occasions our characters on screen had their heads cut off within the frame which meant it took away from the image displayed on screen. In addition, we noticed that we accidentally left a piece of paper with characters line written on within the shot. This is incredibly distracting for the audience as it doesn't make the scenario appear realistic.
On Day 2 of filming we discussed factors that went wrong and how we would change this as we continue. We decided to change the positioning of our main characters seating as we needed to improve our 'over the shoulder' shots. This happened to be a success, shown above, both characters heads are in full shot and not cut off within the frame. As well as this, we decided to add makeup to our main character. During a group discussion we decided it would be better to add slight bruising under her eye to illustrate to the viewer that she has been recovering from her trauma. This will relate to the idea that she is attending to counselling sessions.

Schedule-Filming day1
I created this on the Microsoft software Excel, I find this software easy to use and it fits the idea of a schedule. Another reason why is because its clear and easy to follow.
By creating a schedule it allowed us to be more organised. Having a tight schedule meant that we were motivated to meet certain deadlines and wouldn't waste anytime. It enabled us to be very productive during our first day of filming.

Exploring the location - Time-Lapse
Using software on an iPhone, I used time-lapse to record the group exploring our location. I used this as a good opportunity to practice my editing skills on the app Splice, adding additional music on top and also slowing the footage down so viewers are able to see the whole experience. As well as making a vlog we believed that this is different to anything that has been included with in our blog before and is a lot more entertaining, rather than watching a five minute video of the same process.

Vlogging Of Filming Day 1
Throughout the day of filming we decided to record a separate vlog! This showed the process of our day and what we done
and how we done it, some parts were hard to incorporate within the blog without giving too much away! There is also separate vlogs that we have uploaded including a hair and makeup time-lapse and also an exploring our location time-lapse. It was important that we included behind the scene clips as a group we felt this is beneficial and different to anything that we have previously used on our blog.

Makeup And Hair At The Location!
When at the location as a group we decided to record the process of doing our characters hair and makeup! Rather than just recording on a video we decided to use a time-lapse once again. This is due to the fact that it speeds the footage up and is a lot more engaging than another ten minute long video. In this clip you can see Jordan doing Abbie's hair, Amee doing Abbie's makeup and also Nicole who is recording all the footage on an iPhone! We believe that the hair and makeup is key to make our opening scene more believable and also help the audience gain empathy for our main character!

Makeup and Hair Trial
Before we film the opening of our thriller, we decided to practice our character's hair and makeup, to ensure that it is believable and realistic. This is the overall look that we came up with as a group, the hair is back-combed to give the effect of being uncared for and also being stripped of the luxuries of the outside world. To add to this illusion, we created a dramatic makeup look, to enhance features such as the eye and brow bone, to portray that our character has been abused over a period of time. In addition we used fake blood to show that she has been hurt by her abductor.

How to improve our blog
This week we received the rankings for our blog posts, currently A.A_SpurgeProductions are in second place! To improve our blog and maintain our high ranking Mr.Sherrif gave us one main criticism. This was to removing white blank backgrounds from some of our blog posts, this is empty open space and is unneeded. In conclusion we fixed the errors straight away and hope that our blog remains at this high level. In order to make sure that we maintain this high ranking, as a team we must ensure that we continue to upload many more media rich quality blogs.

Social media
As a group we decided the best way to promote our production label was to create a variety of different social media accounts!
Due to this generation we thought making accounts such as Twitter and Instagram would be most beneficial as its easy to access, current, people can be easily updated, as well as view this everyday.
The updates of the videos(youtube), tweets(twitter) and images(instagram) will track our progress and update you on the journey we take to reach our final product.
